Forgiveness is an act of the will. One cannot wait for the emotions to enable one to do it or to bring about the desire to. Forgiveness is a command, and in fact, one for our own benefit. To forgive, is deliberate obedience to Jesus; it’s to model a life like Christ and in doing so pleases the Father.
