Read Daniel 3 vs 8-18 (ESV)

One must always be very careful to discern the culture around them. In Daniel 3, we read where King Nebuchadnezzar demanded the people conform to the toxic culture of idol worship.

Now idolatry might seem obvious to notice or even resist, but bear in mind that out of a multitude only three resisted the culture as we read in this passage.

Resisting a culture that is counter to what Christ calls us to, will always cost you on some level. So be prepared to pay the price regardless of the outcome.

The thing I want to highlight about a dangerous culture and the best way to discern a culture that is contrary to the kingdom is when it ‘demands’ of you. Christians are not called to be a people of force or manipulation. To operate like this is to operate in the demonic.

Christ tell us that we are not to lord things over others (See Matthew 20:25 and 1 Peter 5:3).

So whenever you are being forced, beware. Whenever there is a demand for you to sin against God, stand your ground, regardless.
