‘For the joy set before him…’
Joy is not the same as happiness.
Joy is a fruit, happiness is an emotion.
Jesus proves that you can pursue and persevere despite your circumstances.
The very joy set before Jesus was not a happy place, it wasn’t a yoga class, it was the cross.
This cross, because it was the will of God, despite its radical pain, was His JOY and has also become ours!
And for this same reason, we ought to consider all our trials and tribulations as pure joy (not happiness), for what is produced thereafter is worth it every bit of joy.
