There is a saying that goes like this, “Do not put the cart before the horse.”
I cannot but think how applicable this is to salvation.
Allow me to rephrase it like this, “Do not put works before life.”
The cart can be seen as works and is useless without the horse.
The horse can be seen as life and is ultimately more important than the cart.
The horse comes first and the cart follows. This is evidence to eternal life.
When it comes to the Christian life, do not put works (the cart) before life (the horse).
