9 PRINCIPLES / VALUES – Matthew 5 – 7
1. Be righteous and do good before all people for Gods glory, not yours (5:16)
2. Pray, fast and give in secret to your God (6:3; 6 and 16-18)
3. Keep both your eyes fixed on the treasure in heaven (6:21)
4. Seek first to deal with the issues of the Kingdom (6:33)
5. Do not judge other people (7:1)
6. Be careful how and with whom you share the news about the Kingdom. Very few people will enter the Kingdom of God (7:6)
7. Ask and keep asking for that which is needed (7:7-8)
8. The Golden Rule – ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ (7:12)
9. Seek to know someone by what they do, not what they say (7:15-23)

1. ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’ (5:3)
2. ‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.’ (5:4)
3. ‘Blessed are the meek / humble, for they will inherit the earth.’ (5:5)
4. ‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.’ (5:6)
5. ‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.’ (5:7)
6. ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.’ (5:8)
